UNBELIEVABLE: The hosts of The View could be LOSING THEIR JOBS as executives make a shocking move—backing “the person they’ve always criticized.” Why the sudden change?

Tensions Rise at The View as Hosts Asked to Ease Trump Criticism Amid Layoffs

Tensions

are reportedly mounting on the set of The View as the show’s hosts face pressure to soften their criticism of former President Donald Trump.

Amidst ongoing layoffs and budget cuts at ABC, the network’s executives have allegedly urged the panelists to tone down their political commentary,

leading to a noticeable shift in the show’s atmosphere.

Executives Urge Hosts to Dial Back Trump Criticism

An insider close to The View’s co-hosts—Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin,

Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro—revealed that executive producer Brian Teta recently asked the team to go “easy” on Trump-related discussions. The request reportedly came as ABC aims to avoid controversy leading up to Trump’s return to the White House following his inauguration last month.

For a show known for its outspoken political discourse, especially its criticism of Trump, this shift has reportedly left the hosts frustrated. The insider claims that morale has taken a hit, with the co-hosts feeling pressured to censor their opinions.

Layoffs Shake Up the Show’s Production Team

Adding to the tension, The View recently experienced staff layoffs as part of parent company Disney’s broader cost-cutting initiatives. At least nine employees, including two senior producers—Jamie Hammer and Audrey Jones—were let go, sparking unease among remaining staffers.

“People were shocked that he’d fire such experienced, well-respected producers,” an insider shared, describing the move as a morale killer. With uncertainty looming, many employees fear more cuts are on the horizon.

“There’s a lot of anxiety even though they just went through layoffs,” the source added. “Everybody is waiting for the other shoe to drop.”

New Studio Arrangements Cause Friction

Beyond the layoffs and editorial restrictions, The View’s move to a new shared studio space with The Tamron Hall Show has reportedly added to the frustration. The hosts are said to be displeased with the arrangement, particularly because guests from both shows now have to share dressing rooms.

Unlike their previous setup, where personal belongings could be left overnight, the new shared environment requires everything to be packed away daily. This logistical change, combined with alleged scheduling conflicts between the two productions, has created added stress.

“Tamron Hall thinks she’s Oprah. She is very demanding,” a source claimed. “She doesn’t realize she’s playing second fiddle to The View.”

A different insider, however, pushed back on claims of tension, stating, “Kudos to both productions for seamlessly working together to bring our viewers several hours of television each week.”

Hosts Struggle with Political Shifts

While The View continues to dominate daytime talk show ratings—pulling in nearly 2.6 million viewers over the past month—some co-hosts have admitted they feel increasingly out of touch with their audience.

Sara Haines, for instance, recently acknowledged that her strong anti-Trump stance has made her feel disconnected from certain viewers. Meanwhile, Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump administration staffer who later endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, clashed with Whoopi Goldberg over the importance of engaging with conservative perspectives.

“Democrats have to be willing to go to uncomfortable spaces,” Griffin argued, admitting that she agrees with some of Trump’s policies. Goldberg, however, pushed back, refusing to entertain what she saw as unnecessary concessions.

Is The View Losing Its Edge?

The reported editorial changes and internal struggles raise questions about whether The View can maintain its reputation as a politically bold and unfiltered talk show. As executives push for a more cautious approach, viewers may notice a shift in the show’s dynamic, particularly when it comes to discussions about Trump and other politically charged topics.

For now, The View remains one of ABC’s strongest-performing daytime programs, but with morale reportedly low and tensions brewing, it remains to be seen how these changes will impact the long-term future of the show.
