Ruth Langsford “cleared her tears” while suggesting that her chronic illness could force her to leave behind her beloved career: “Looking back, I wish I hadn’t pursued it…”

During the latest episode of Loose Women on ITV, host Ruth Langsford made a heartfelt appeal to viewers as she shared a personal health update on air.

The Tuesday (February 25) broadcast featured Ruth alongside fellow panellists Janet Street-Porter, Denise Welch, and Coleen Nolan,

engaging in discussions on various trending topics.

One particular segment stood out, drawing significant attention from both the live audience and viewers at home.

The conversation focused on the potential health risks that changes in the skin might indicate, emphasizing conditions that many people might overlook.

Ruth kickstarted the discussion with an important message, stating: “We will be talking about skin today.

Are you taking care of it? Any change in your skin condition could be an indication that something else is going on in your body.”

She further stressed the importance of skin health, citing dermatologists who warn that many people neglect to properly examine their skin, potentially missing crucial warning signs of underlying health issues. “Dermatologists are warning we are all guilty of not taking enough time to really look at our skin and therefore look after ourselves,” Ruth explained.

Ruth Shares Her Own Health Concerns

Seizing the opportunity to reinforce her message, Ruth candidly shared her personal experience with viewers. She revealed that she recently had her moles checked but reassured everyone that there was nothing to worry about. Reflecting on her approach to health in her younger years, she admitted: “When I was younger, you kind of ignored things and never thought about them. But definitely, as I’ve gotten older—I’ve been twice this week—I go twice a year to get my moles checked,” she told the audience, as reported by The Mirror.

Looking back on past attitudes toward sun safety, Ruth recalled childhood memories, explaining: “When we were young, we didn’t know the dangers of sunbathing. My dad was in the army, so we spent a lot of time abroad, running around in the sun. Sunscreen was around, but we didn’t really smother it on like we should have.”

As she gestured towards her skin, she disclosed: “I’ve just had a little thing done here this week, but it’s nothing to worry about because it’s been checked.” The lighthearted conversation took a humorous turn when Coleen Nolan pointed out that Ruth had appeared slightly green earlier in the day. Laughing, Ruth responded: “I did go green, but it’s gone now. I don’t know what that was—maybe because it was early morning.”

A Strong Appeal to Viewers

Before wrapping up the segment, Ruth made a passionate plea to viewers, urging them to pay closer attention to their skin and seek medical advice if they notice any unusual changes. “Please go and have anything checked that you are worried about,” she implored.

Highlighting some potential warning signs, Ruth noted: “We are just looking at how blue skin can be a sign of poor circulation, yellowish skin may indicate liver problems, and thickness or hardening of the skin could be linked to diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney disorders. So anything that concerns you or seems unusual—please, please get it checked.”

Her message resonated strongly with the audience, serving as a reminder of the importance of being proactive about health. Ruth’s openness about her own experiences and her commitment to raising awareness underscored the vital role that skin health plays in detecting potential medical conditions. As the Loose Women panel wrapped up their discussion, Ruth’s words remained a powerful call to action for viewers to take their health seriously and not overlook any changes in their skin.

By sharing her own health concerns and emphasizing the importance of routine check-ups, Ruth Langsford has once again proven why Loose Women continues to be a platform for meaningful and impactful discussions.
