Ruth Langsford caught a lot of people off guard when she implied that her ex-husband, Eamonn Holmes, should consider “taking m.e.d.i.c.a.t.i.o.n” to have kids during their marriage, stating, “He is i.m.p.o.t.e.n.t…”

Ruth Langsford has never shied away from speaking her mind, and she recently made headlines with a playful dig at her ex-husband,

Eamonn Holmes, during an episode of Loose Women. The seasoned TV presenter,

who finalized her divorce from Holmes in 2024, showed that humor remains part of her approach to dealing with life’s ups and downs.

The former This Morning co-hosts were one of the most recognizable couples in British television, having spent decades together both on and off screen.

They had been in a relationship since 1996, married in 2010, and share a son, Jack.

However, their professional and personal partnership came to an end, and Langsford has been candid about the difficulties of moving forward.

Despite the challenges, she has remained in high spirits, as evidenced by her lighthearted remark about Holmes’ involvement in the birth of their child.

During a recent discussion on Loose Women about childbirth and midwifery, Langsford reminisced about her experience giving birth to Jack. Sitting alongside co-presenters Myleene Klass, Linda Robson, and Denise Welch, she shared fond memories of her midwife, Maria, who played a significant role in bringing Jack into the world.

“My midwife Maria, who sadly passed, was just incredible,” Langsford said. “We remained friends long after, and she even came to Jack’s birthday parties when he was younger.”

As she reflected on the experience, she couldn’t resist making a cheeky remark about Holmes’ role in the delivery room. “I just remember feeling that Maria and I birthed Jack… I mean, Eamonn was there, and he did what he could,” she quipped.

Her comment drew laughter from both her fellow panelists and members of the audience, prompting Klass to chuckle in response. However, Langsford was quick to clarify, adding, “No, no, he did,” in an attempt to soften the joke, though the humor in her remark was clear.

Langsford’s ability to poke fun at her past while maintaining a sense of grace is something fans have come to appreciate. Over the years, she and Holmes developed a reputation for their playful banter, both on-air and in their personal lives. Though their marriage came to an end, it appears Langsford has retained her wit and sense of humor.

Her divorce from Holmes in 2024 was widely publicized, particularly given their high-profile careers and history together. The couple, who were removed from their This Morning hosting roles in 2020, faced speculation and scrutiny as they navigated their split. Langsford has since spoken about the emotional toll of the separation, admitting that it was a painful experience but one she has chosen to face with resilience.

In an interview following the divorce, she acknowledged the difficulties but expressed a desire to move forward positively. “You can let yourself crumble, or you can pick yourself up and get on with life,” she previously stated. “I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it. I’m trying to embrace the fact that I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.”

Langsford has also credited exercise and self-care with helping her navigate the transition, revealing that she has prioritized fitness as part of her post-divorce journey. She has spoken about taking up new routines and maintaining a sense of independence, proving that she is determined to focus on herself and her well-being.

As for Holmes, the veteran broadcaster has largely remained out of the spotlight regarding personal matters, though he has continued his career in television. While Langsford’s remarks may have been lighthearted, they serve as a reminder of the shared history between the two and the humor that remains part of their story—even after their split.

For Langsford, embracing her new chapter means continuing to be the confident and candid personality that fans love. Whether it’s sharing personal anecdotes or joking about the past, she remains as engaging as ever on Loose Women, proving that even in the face of change, laughter is often the best medicine.
