A contestant from The Chase has accused host Bradley Walsh of being “unethical” after a leaked video allegedly shows him swearing at others in frustration.

A former contestant on The Chase has opened up about his experience on the popular ITV quiz show, revealing some unexpected details about host Bradley Walsh.

Alexander, who recently appeared on the show, took to social media to share insights about what really happens behind the scenes, surprising fans with his revelations.

Bradley Walsh’s Unexpected Habit Behind the Scenes

Bradley Walsh, 63, has been the face of The Chase since it first aired in 2009.

While viewers see him as a charismatic and humorous host, Alexander revealed that there’s a side to Bradley that doesn’t make it to air.

According to Alexander, Bradley swears quite a bit while filming, though none of it makes the final cut. He explained:

“He was just as nice in real life. What surprised me is that he swore a bit, and they just edited that out.”

Despite this unexpected revelation, Alexander had nothing but praise for the TV veteran, describing the atmosphere on set as relaxed and enjoyable. He noted that the joking and laughter are constant throughout filming, making for a “chill atmosphere” behind the scenes.

A “Novel Experience” with a Tight Schedule

Taking part in a televised quiz show is a unique experience, and Alexander admitted that being on The Chase was unlike anything he had done before.

“Going down to London, filming for TV, and meeting someone like Bradley and the Chasers is a very novel experience,” he said.

However, he also pointed out that the schedule was tight, leaving him with little time to interact with Bradley and the rest of the cast. While the friendly atmosphere was a highlight, the fast-paced nature of the production meant that contestants had limited opportunities to chat beyond what was necessary for filming.

How Much Do Contestants Get Paid to Appear?

Many fans have often wondered if contestants on The Chase are compensated for their time. Alexander provided some insight, revealing that players receive £15 per day in expenses.

In a lighthearted comment, he joked that he only spent £12 on food while participating, meaning he technically made a small profit of £3 for his appearance. While this amount may not seem like much, it is standard for many game shows that do not offer cash prizes for simply taking part.

Viewers Criticize Contestants After Disappointing Performance

Although Alexander enjoyed his time on the show, his team’s performance did not impress everyone.

He and his fellow contestants faced off against Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis but were all caught, meaning none of them advanced to the final round. This led to frustration among some fans, who took to social media to complain about what they saw as a decline in contestant quality.

One viewer tweeted:

“This show is going downhill fast. The producers need to sort it out & fast … it’s losing its appeal.”

Another added:

“I do wish the producers of #TheChase would choose more competent players. Make it better TV.”

A Rare Loss in the Final Chase

Even though all four contestants were eliminated, The Chase still proceeded with the final chase round. Alexander stepped up for a last-gasp attempt to secure £4,000 for the team. Unfortunately, he too was caught by the Chaser, making it one of the rare episodes where no contestant took home any prize money.

Despite the disappointing outcome, Alexander remained positive about the experience. While he may not have walked away with a big win, the chance to be on national television, meet Bradley Walsh and the Chasers, and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the show made it a memorable adventure.

His behind-the-scenes revelations have only added to fans’ curiosity about what really happens on The Chase, and his comments about Bradley’s unfiltered moments have certainly given viewers something new to think about the next time they tune in.
