Blake Lively is under fire for allegedly being a “copycat” as social media users have noted that a scene she performed closely resembles a moment from Green Lantern, with the same camera angle and lines.

A fan has sparked an intriguing theory after noticing striking similarities

between the dance scenes in Blake Lively’s recent film It Ends With Us and her 2011 superhero film Green Lantern, where she starred opposite her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

This revelation comes amid an ongoing legal battle between Lively and It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni,

after Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024.

The actress specifically referenced a dance scene between her and Baldoni’s characters,

in which she claimed she was made to feel uncomfortable by Baldoni’s actions, including kissing her neck and commenting on her scent.

Baldoni, who countersued for defamation, has since released raw footage from the scene to contest Lively’s allegations. The footage shows Lively and Baldoni’s characters slow dancing in a bar while extras cheer and enjoy a game in the background. The two actors can be heard chatting casually, even making light-hearted comments about their respective spouses—Lively mentioning Reynolds and Baldoni referring to his wife, Emily.

In the footage, Lively and Baldoni can be seen laughing and joking, with Lively even stating that she thought it would be “more romantic” for them to talk while dancing. They also exchanged playful comments about the size of Baldoni’s nose and getting spray tan on each other. Despite the lighthearted nature of the footage, Lively’s legal team has argued that the video only serves to reinforce her claims, labeling it as “damning” evidence that corroborates her version of events.

However, what has caught the attention of some fans is the striking resemblance between this scene in It Ends With Us and a similar dance scene in Green Lantern. In the 2011 superhero film, Lively’s character, Carol Ferris, shares an intimate dance with Reynolds’ Hal Jordan. The scene, which is also set in a bar, features a slow dance between the characters as they develop a romantic connection, mirroring the dynamics of the scene in It Ends With Us. One fan pointed out that the similarities between the two scenes were too strong to ignore, leading them to propose the theory that Lively may have consciously tried to recreate the moment she shared with Reynolds when they first fell in love on set.

This theory has since garnered attention on social media, with some fans wondering if Lively’s insistence on talking during the dance scene in It Ends With Us was an attempt to replicate the chemistry she had with Reynolds in Green Lantern. The fan questioned whether Lively subtly rewrote the scene to mirror her real-life experience, especially given her comment about the romance of the conversation. One fan speculated that Lively may have subconsciously recalled the moment she fell in love with Reynolds, leading her to prefer a dialogue-heavy approach during the dance.

While this theory has intrigued many, it has also raised questions about the complexities of Lively’s situation on the set of It Ends With Us. Some fans pointed out that although the scenes may appear similar, this doesn’t invalidate Lively’s discomfort around Baldoni. “Just because the scenes look the same doesn’t mean she couldn’t have felt uncomfortable,” one fan remarked, emphasizing the importance of listening to Lively’s account of the situation.

Since the release of It Ends With Us in August 2024, rumors about a fallout between Lively and Baldoni have circulated, particularly after it was noted that the two stars did not do press together. Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni accuses him of sexual harassment, which he denies, instead countersuing for defamation. In their legal battle, both parties have shared personal communications, including text messages and emails, to support their respective claims. Baldoni’s legal team even launched a website to display evidence they believe will vindicate him.

Further complicating matters, Lively revealed that Reynolds was heavily involved in the making of It Ends With Us, even contributing to some of the script. This revelation has led some to believe that Reynolds may have played a significant role in influencing the film’s direction, particularly in scenes involving Lively’s character.

As the legal dispute progresses, the tension surrounding the production of It Ends With Us continues to capture public attention. With the case set to go to trial in March 2026, both sides are preparing to present their evidence in court. While the dance scene theory may be just a speculative interpretation by fans, it adds another layer to the complex and ongoing saga surrounding Lively, Baldoni, and Reynolds.

Ultimately, whether or not Lively consciously recreated the dance scene from Green Lantern remains unclear, but the situation sheds light on the dynamics between actors, the creative process, and the challenges faced behind the scenes in Hollywood.
