Ella Rutherford fueled breakup rumors with GK Barry by admitting she “felt nauseous” when thinking about their private moments.

Ella Rutherford, girlfriend of social media star and presenter GK Barry,

has opened up about the emotional toll of being apart from her partner

while he participated in the hit reality show I’m A Celebrity…

Get Me Out Of Here! In a candid interview, Rutherford shared her feelings about the experience

and addressed the much-talked-about bridge kiss that made headlines after the show’s finale.

Coping With the Distance

Rutherford admitted that GK Barry’s time in the jungle was far from easy for her. “It was hell, to be honest,” she revealed. “Being apart for such a long time, with no communication, was something I wasn’t prepared for.”

The I’m A Celeb experience requires contestants to fully disconnect from the outside world, leaving family and loved ones to rely on brief glimpses during episodes. For Rutherford, this lack of connection was particularly challenging.

“I didn’t realize how much I’d miss the little things—our daily chats, his sense of humor, just having him around,” she said. “It felt like a part of my life was missing.”

Despite the difficulty, Rutherford acknowledged that she understood the opportunity’s importance for Barry’s career. “I was so proud of him for doing something so brave and outside of his comfort zone. It was just hard not being able to share that experience with him in real time.”

The Awkward Bridge Kiss

The couple’s reunion on the famous I’m A Celeb bridge became a hot topic among fans, with many labeling the moment “awkward.” As Barry crossed the bridge after his elimination, Rutherford was there to greet him, but their celebratory kiss appeared stilted and hesitant.

Addressing the viral moment, Rutherford laughed off the criticism. “It wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be! We were just so overwhelmed in the moment. There were cameras everywhere, and it felt like a million eyes were on us. It’s not exactly the most private or romantic setting.”

She added, “We’d been apart for so long, and I think we were both a bit nervous. But honestly, as soon as the cameras were off, everything went back to normal, and we couldn’t stop talking and laughing.”

Supporting Barry’s Jungle Journey

Rutherford played a significant role in rallying support for Barry while he was in the jungle. She regularly took to social media to encourage fans to vote for him and shared updates about his progress on the show.

“Watching him on TV was surreal,” she said. “It was amazing to see him take on challenges and show a side of himself that not everyone gets to see. He’s such a genuine person, and I think that came through.”

She also expressed gratitude to Barry’s fans, who supported him throughout the competition. “The love and encouragement from everyone really helped me get through it, too. Knowing so many people were rooting for him made the experience a little easier to handle.”

Life After the Jungle

Now that the show has ended, Rutherford and Barry are enjoying being reunited and settling back into their normal lives. Reflecting on the experience, Rutherford said it has brought them closer as a couple.

“It’s made me appreciate him even more,” she shared. “I think when you go through something like this, it strengthens your relationship. We’ve both learned a lot about ourselves and each other.”

Looking ahead, Rutherford is excited to see what new opportunities the show might bring for Barry. “I think this is just the beginning for him,” she said. “He’s worked so hard to get to where he is, and I can’t wait to see what he does next.”

Moving Past the Awkwardness

As for the infamous bridge kiss, Rutherford insists it’s water under the bridge—literally and figuratively. “At the end of the day, it’s just a funny little moment,” she said. “What really matters is the love and support we have for each other, and that’s something no awkward kiss can change.”

With their bond stronger than ever, GK Barry and Ella Rutherford are embracing the future together, leaving behind the challenges of the jungle and looking forward to new adventures. And if nothing else, the pair have provided fans with a memorable moment that will be talked about for seasons to come.
