GK Barry finally responds, explaining the true reason she COMPLETELY REJECTED the chance to join Strictly: “Nobody wants their career to crash and burn.”

GK Barry has addressed speculation about whether she turned down the opportunity to appear on Strictly Come Dancing in favor of joining I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The 25-year-old social media sensation, whose real name is Grace Keeling, was among the many stars attending a prestigious event in London,

where she was recognized for her contributions to the LGBTQ+ community.

While speaking on the red carpet, she was asked to confirm

whether she had been approached for Strictly Come Dancing and ultimately chose the jungle experience over the ballroom. Her response left fans intrigued.

‘I Can’t Say Which Show’

Rumors had swirled that GK Barry was in discussions to take part in Strictly Come Dancing but ultimately opted for I’m A Celebrity.

When asked about these reports, she remained coy, saying, “I turned down a show, but I can’t say which show.”

Although she did not explicitly confirm whether it was Strictly, her response fueled speculation that she had been among those considered for the hit dance competition. However, she made it clear that she had no regrets about her decision.

No Regrets Over Choosing the Jungle

GK Barry enthusiastically shared her thoughts on appearing in the Australian jungle, admitting that she was pleased with her choice. “Yeah, definitely,” she said when asked if she was happy with her decision.

She explained that I’m A Celebrity gave her a chance to let people see more of her personality. The reality show is well known for placing celebrities in extreme conditions, testing their resilience and humor as they face various challenges. GK Barry was a fan favorite during her time in the camp, thanks to her hilarious reactions to the infamous bushtucker trials and the friendships she formed with fellow contestants.

Strictly Talks Reportedly Took Place

Although she avoided confirming any direct details, reports previously suggested that GK Barry had engaged in discussions with the Strictly Come Dancing team before ultimately deciding to pursue a different path. An insider had reportedly stated that she was in multiple meetings regarding the BBC show but ultimately felt that it was not the right fit for her at the time.

Instead, she chose to continue working with ITV, which has provided her with multiple television opportunities, including her well-received stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Opening Up About Her Journey

Beyond the Strictly speculation, GK Barry has also used her platform to inspire and support others. During her time in the jungle, she opened up about her personal experiences, including how she came out to her parents.

She shared that her coming-out story was aired while she was in the jungle, a moment she was initially unaware of. Reflecting on the reaction, she humorously recounted how her parents responded with casual indifference, simply carrying on with their dinner plans.

However, her openness resonated with many viewers, leading to an outpouring of support from fans. Many reached out to express how her story gave them the confidence to come out to their own families, a response she found deeply moving.

A Rising Star in the Industry

Her contributions to LGBTQ+ representation were acknowledged at the event, where she received the Rising Star award. She expressed gratitude for being part of a community that embraces and uplifts its members, noting the importance of industry recognition.

“It feels really amazing to be a part of this amazing community where we all support each other,” she said.

Acknowledging the challenges that members of the LGBTQ+ community can face in the entertainment industry, she emphasized the value of events that celebrate and highlight the contributions of individuals in the space.
