Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser confessed she began therapy after a “harsh joke” from Pete Davidson deeply impacted her years ago.

Comedian and actress Nikki Glaser, known for her sharp wit and fearless comedy,

recently opened up about a memorable and somewhat stinging experience involving fellow comedian Pete Davidson.

Glaser, who hosted the Golden Globes, revealed in a candid interview that a joke Davidson made about a specific part of her body still resonates with her, even years later.

The incident occurred during a comedy roast, an environment where no topic is off-limits and performers are encouraged to push boundaries.

Roasts are notorious for their brutal humor, and both Glaser and Davidson are no strangers to this comedic tradition.

However, even seasoned comedians can find themselves caught off guard by particularly biting remarks.

Glaser recounted that Davidson made a joke targeting her nose, a feature she admits she has always been self-conscious about. While she acknowledged the humor in the moment and laughed along with the crowd, the comment struck a deeper chord than she expected. “It’s one of those things where you laugh because you’re on stage, and that’s what you’re supposed to do,” she explained. “But it’s also something that sticks with you when you’re lying in bed at night.”

The joke highlighted an aspect of Glaser’s physical appearance that she has struggled with over the years. In her interview, she discussed the complex relationship many people—including comedians—have with their insecurities. “You develop a thick skin in this business,” she said. “But sometimes, the things that hit closest to home are the hardest to shake off.”

Despite the sting, Glaser emphasized that she holds no ill will toward Davidson. “Pete’s a great guy and an amazing comedian,” she said. “He was doing his job, and roasts are meant to be savage. It’s part of the deal.” She also pointed out that the nature of comedy often involves treading a fine line between humor and discomfort, a balance that both she and Davidson understand well.

Glaser’s reflections on the incident offer a deeper insight into the vulnerability that comes with being in the public eye. As a comedian, she has built her career on making audiences laugh, often by sharing personal anecdotes and poking fun at herself. However, she admitted that being the target of jokes can sometimes feel different, especially when it touches on a sensitive subject.

The story has sparked conversations about the impact of humor, particularly in environments like comedy roasts where performers are encouraged to be unapologetically edgy. While audiences often marvel at the ability of comedians to take jabs in stride, Glaser’s candidness reminds us that even those who seem invulnerable to criticism are human.

In addition to discussing the joke, Glaser used the opportunity to reflect on her journey toward self-acceptance. She revealed that, over time, she has learned to embrace her features and let go of many of her insecurities. “I’ve come to realize that the things I used to be self-conscious about are often the things that make me unique,” she shared. “Comedy has actually helped me with that. When you’re able to laugh at yourself, it takes away some of the power those insecurities hold over you.”

Pete Davidson, known for his self-deprecating humor and willingness to joke about his own struggles, has yet to publicly comment on Glaser’s remarks. However, those familiar with his comedic style know that he approaches humor with a sense of honesty and irreverence that often mirrors Glaser’s own approach.

Glaser’s experience also sheds light on the broader challenges comedians face in balancing humor and sensitivity. While comedy often thrives on pushing boundaries, it also requires performers to navigate the fine line between entertainment and offense. For Glaser, the incident served as a reminder of the importance of empathy, even in a field that celebrates audacity.

As Nikki Glaser continues to thrive in her career, her reflections on this experience have resonated with fans and fellow comedians alike. By sharing her story, she has sparked a thoughtful dialogue about comedy, vulnerability, and self-acceptance, proving once again that even in moments of discomfort, humor has the power to connect and heal.
