Kelly Ripa gets emotional, revealing that she can no longer view her kids’ posts on social media—because of herself. What’s the story behind this?

Kelly Ripa is no stranger to the spotlight, but when it comes to her social media presence, her children often set strict boundaries.

The “Live With Kelly and Mark” co-host recently opened up about how her kids—Lola,

23, Michael, 27, and Joaquin, 21—aren’t afraid to remove her from their online lives when they see fit.

In a candid interview, Ripa admitted that she faces temporary blocks from her children whenever she interacts with their social media posts.

“Usually, if I comment on one of their posts, I get a temporary blocking,” she revealed. “Then, the ban gets lifted, and I’m reinstated.”

Expressing her frustration, she questioned why her kids couldn’t be like others who happily engage with their parents on social media.

She even referenced Lisa Rinna’s daughters, who frequently include their mother in TikTok videos. “Not that I want to be in a TikTok, but can I at least be on your TikTok?” Ripa joked.

Despite the occasional restrictions, Lola recently allowed her mother to comment on one of her Instagram posts, a sun-soaked snapshot captioned, “Is this demure?” Ripa humorously referenced a popular TikTok trend by responding, “It’s very mindful.”

It’s not hard to see why Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, might make their children a bit wary of parental social media involvement. The couple has never shied away from showcasing their affection online. From Ripa sharing workout videos of a shirtless and sweaty Consuelos to flirty comments on Instagram, the duo keeps their love life highly visible.

Last year, Ripa confessed that she believes her children have gone to great lengths to avoid seeing their parents’ content. “I’m pretty sure they’ve blocked us,” she shared, adding that their kids likely adjust their news feeds to eliminate any mention of their famous parents.

For Consuelos, however, the kids’ reluctance to engage on social media isn’t surprising. He acknowledged that each of their children has gone through phases where they prefer to stay out of the spotlight. “We respect that,” he stated.

Lola, in particular, hasn’t been shy about voicing her feelings regarding her parents’ social media activity. In 2020, she called out their online antics, describing them as “disgusting” and playfully suggesting that she might not even follow them anymore.

While their kids might not always appreciate their online presence, Ripa and Consuelos have embraced their dynamic social media relationship. In a memorable exchange, Ripa once left a suggestive comment on Consuelos’ Instagram post about his role on “Riverdale,” writing, “Oooooooooooo. Daddy, I love when you take over.”

Their playful banter doesn’t stop there. Ripa has also poked fun at Consuelos’ past Halloween costumes, particularly a tight-fitting “CHiPs” outfit that led to a lighthearted debate about whether a certain bulge was a shadow or not.

Beyond social media, the couple has been candid about their marriage of nearly three decades. Ripa once joked about Consuelos’ behavior after intimate moments, saying he becomes “short” and “irritated.” Though initially taken as a serious claim, she later clarified that she simply meant he falls asleep right afterward.

Their humorous and open approach to marriage has even extended to live television. During a segment on “Live,” Ripa playfully commented on how Consuelos always finds a way to solve problems in their relationship—with “love and sexy time.”

The couple’s kids, however, would rather keep their parents’ romantic lives out of sight and mind. While appearing on “Watch What Happens Live,” Ripa confirmed that they’ve been blocked on multiple social media platforms and even joked about having to be more mindful of what they share.

Despite their children’s reluctance, Ripa and Consuelos continue to embrace their playful and affectionate dynamic, whether on TV, Instagram, or in interviews. And while their kids may roll their eyes, one thing is certain: Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos aren’t changing anytime soon.
