Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been working on their image since they left The Firm, and an insider says she’s concerned it could all go up in flames if Kate and William dip their toes in the US.

It’s almost been five years since Meghan Markle and Harry announced the start of their new life away from Buckingham Palace. After some time in Canada, and staying at billionaire Tyler Perry’s home, they settled in the star-studded neighborhood of Montecito in California. While Prince Harry and the Duchess has dabbled in various ventures since becoming financially dependent, nothing has quite stuck. They’ve done Netflix shows, Oprah interviews and now Meg is soft-launching her lifestyle brand – months after revealing it. While PR experts have sent the royal couple warnings that their image in the public eye isn’t as good as it could be, a new insider claims the former TV star is concerned Prince William and Kate Middleton could steal her thunder.

Meghan Markle is working on her ‘big comeback’

Kate Middleton and William have wanted to expand their territory into the States for several years, way before Meghan arrived on the scene with Harry on her arm.

While the 43-year-old conducted work for women and young girls and spoke out about vital topics before she met the royal, her platform since becoming a Duchess has skyrocketed, definitely helping her impact.

But as Prince Harry continues to go solo on certain appearances and projects, and insider says Kate and William coming over to her ‘turf’ is another ‘blow.

They explained: “Kate and William want their mental health foundation to be a worldwide brand and know they could do a lot of work in America – this is where Kate’s passions lie.

“For Meghan, it just feels like another blow, as Harry is making more of a life for himself in America and doing big events without her, like the one he did in New York last week.

“And she already knows how popular Kate and William are in the US and with their own Hollywood popularity seemingly dwindling, she doesn’t feel comfortable with them making any trips across the pond right now because they will no doubt be a huge fanfare.”

It’s not yet clear when the next King and Queen of Britain may travel to America again, but the insider says Meghan is “just concerned that her big comeback could coincide with Kate and William’s visit to America, and she’s not sure if she’s ready for that,” whenever that may be.

Kate and Wills’ plans

Reports say the Prince and Princess of Wales have signed and submitted an important document that reveals their plans to work in the US. The parents have sent off the official filings to the United States Patent and Trademark Office before officially launching their Royal Foundation charity across the pond.

In the docs, it states it includes ‘healthcare services relating to mental health’, and a source says the crossover is awkwardly stepping on the Sussexes’ toes.

The insider tells OK! it could lead to a ‘turf war’ considering Harry and Meghan have been attempting to raise awareness over the topic for several years.

“Meghan was quite shocked when she found out that Kate and William plan to do more work in America after trademarking their foundation’s brand with authorities,” they said.

“Although they have made a couple of trips to the US, it’s not really part of their territory, and now Meghan feels they could be moving in on her turf.”

Kate and William submitted the initial trademark application in May 2023, but considering the Princess of Wales’ health battle, it’s easy to understand why they haven’t made any moves yet.

In 2012, years before Harry met Meghan, there was also a trademark application for the three royals, The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. But this was cancelled officially a year after he married Meghan and months before the Duke left the UK.
