Nicole Kidman faced strong backlash after suggesting she found joy following her mother’s de@th. Why?

Nicole Kidman recently opened up about the profound impact her mother,

Janelle Ann Kidman, had on her life as she reflected on their relationship three months after her mother’s passing.

The Academy Award-winning actress shared deeply personal insights into what it was like to grow up with a mother who served as both her biggest supporter and her toughest critic.

For Kidman, her mother’s influence shaped not only her career but also the way she navigates the complexities of life, family, and personal growth.

In a heartfelt interview, Kidman described her late mother as a formidable force—someone who was not afraid to speak her mind and hold her children to high standards.

“My mom was my rock, my mentor, and at times, my harshest critic,” Kidman explained.

“She didn’t sugarcoat things, and she always pushed me to be the best version of myself.” This dynamic, though challenging at times, helped Kidman build resilience and develop the self-discipline necessary for a career in the competitive world of acting.

Janelle Kidman, who passed away at the age of 81, was a celebrated nurse and a staunch advocate for women’s education. She instilled in Nicole a strong sense of independence and determination. Growing up in Sydney, Australia, Kidman remembers her mother as a woman of principle, one who believed in standing up for what was right and striving for excellence in everything she did. This unwavering drive influenced Kidman’s own work ethic and her approach to life.

Kidman also reflected on the complexities of their relationship, admitting that there were times when her mother’s criticisms felt difficult to handle. “She could be incredibly tough,” Kidman said, “but it came from a place of love. She wanted me to succeed, and she wanted me to be prepared for the realities of life.” While her mother’s words could sometimes sting, they ultimately helped Kidman develop the thick skin necessary for a career that often involves rejection and criticism.

Janelle’s passing has left a void in Kidman’s life, but it has also given her an opportunity to reflect on the lessons her mother imparted. “Losing her has been incredibly hard,” Kidman admitted. “But it’s also made me appreciate all the ways she prepared me for the challenges I face. Her strength and wisdom continue to guide me every day.”

In addition to shaping her as an individual, Kidman credits her mother with helping her understand the importance of family. Janelle was a devoted mother to Nicole and her sister Antonia, and she worked tirelessly to ensure they had opportunities to pursue their dreams. For Kidman, the values her mother instilled have become a guiding light in her own parenting journey. As a mother to four children, Kidman often finds herself drawing on the lessons she learned from Janelle. “I try to emulate her strength and her love,” she shared. “She showed me what it means to be a mother who supports her children unconditionally, while also challenging them to be better.”

Kidman also reflected on the final months of her mother’s life, which were marked by both emotional challenges and moments of deep connection. During this time, Kidman prioritized spending time with her mother, often traveling back to Australia to be by her side. “Those last few months were precious,” she said. “We talked about everything—our memories, our dreams, and our fears. It was a time of healing and reflection.”

The loss of her mother has also brought a renewed sense of gratitude for the legacy Janelle left behind. Kidman hopes to honor her mother’s memory by continuing to advocate for the causes that were important to her, including women’s rights and education. “She was a trailblazer in so many ways,” Kidman said. “I want to carry forward her passion and her determination.”

As Kidman moves forward, she does so with a deep sense of appreciation for the woman who shaped her into the person she is today. “My mom gave me so much—her love, her guidance, and her strength,” she said. “Even though she’s no longer here, she’ll always be a part of me. Everything I do is, in some way, a reflection of her.”

This period of mourning has reminded Kidman of the enduring power of love and the importance of cherishing the moments we have with the people we hold dear. For her, Janelle Ann Kidman’s legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and unwavering love—a legacy that will continue to inspire her for years to come.
