Ruth Langsford has disappointed her followers after being seen trying to patch things up with her cheating husband, Eamonn Holmes: “This time, she’s bringing her own son into the mix…”

Ruth Langsford couldn’t resist a lighthearted jab at her ex-husband, Eamonn Holmes, as she reflected on their journey into parenthood during Monday’s episode of Loose Women.

The television presenter, 64, joined fellow panellists Myleene Klass, Linda Robson,

and Denise Welch for a discussion on childbirth and midwifery, where she took the opportunity to reminisce about the birth of their son, Jack, now 22.

Langsford, who shares Jack with Holmes, made a humorous remark that had both her co-hosts and the audience chuckling.

“Eamonn did what he could,” she quipped, prompting laughter from Myleene Klass. She then elaborated, explaining how instrumental her midwife, Maria, was during the delivery.

Midwife’s Key Role in Jack’s Birth

Reflecting on her experience, Langsford spoke fondly of Maria, her midwife, who sadly passed away in later years. She shared how Maria remained a significant part of their lives even after Jack was born, attending his childhood birthday parties.

“I just remember feeling that Maria and I birthed Jack… I mean, Eamonn was there, and he did what he could in that moment,” she said, earning more giggles from the audience.

Langsford described how, during labor, she found comfort and strength in Maria’s voice. “At that moment, I was relying on her. You know when you have your eyes closed? I could hear her talking, going, ‘Keep on, another breath,’” she recalled. “I just remember focusing on her voice and her face, and that really got me through.”

Her candid remarks playfully hinted that Holmes’ contributions in the delivery room might not have been as hands-on as she would have liked, but her words were said in good humor.

Myleene Klass Gets Emotional Over Midwife’s Role in Her Life

As the conversation progressed, Myleene Klass was visibly moved while discussing her own midwifery experience. The former Hear’Say singer, 46, broke down in tears as she spoke about her deep connection with her midwife, Pippa Nightingale, who was by her side during a difficult fertility journey.

Klass, who is now a mother to three children—Ava, 17, Hero, 13, and Apollo, five—revealed how she and Pippa developed an incredibly close friendship.

“That really gets me, that clip,” Klass said, referencing a recent viral moment in which Holly Willoughby became emotional after reuniting with the midwife who delivered her daughter.

Klass explained that her bond with Pippa was unique because they shared a long and emotional journey together. “We went through four years of miscarriages until I got my baby,” she revealed. “It’s not like I just met her on the day. She was there for me through everything.”

As her emotions overwhelmed her, Langsford gently asked, “That is a very, very strong connection?”

Fighting back tears, Klass responded, “I love her, yeah.”

She then tried to compose herself, adding, “I don’t think you get those relationships all the time with your midwife. I got to know her for four years.”

Shared Experiences of Motherhood

Langsford, who had earlier reflected on her own midwife’s role, nodded in agreement. “I remember when Holly said [her midwife] told her, ‘We’re going to breathe this baby out,’” she said, recalling a similar moment during her own labor. “I remember feeling that Maria and I birthed Jack. I mean, Eamonn was there, and he did what he could,” she repeated with a smile.

The discussion highlighted the powerful role that midwives play in childbirth, often forming lifelong connections with the families they support.

Klass concluded by acknowledging how unexpected but meaningful her friendship with Pippa became. “The joke was that it was her and my baby because I was in the clinic with her all the time,” she said. “To go through five pregnancies to get my baby—it was a journey we shared.”

A Heartfelt Yet Humorous Moment

While Langsford’s playful swipe at Holmes was made in jest, it added a touch of humor to an otherwise emotional and heartfelt conversation about motherhood, loss, and the invaluable role midwives play in women’s lives.

Despite their split in 2023 after over two decades together, Langsford and Holmes have remained professional and respectful in public. Her comments on Loose Women were a reflection of that, as she shared a fond, albeit cheeky, memory from their shared past as parents.
