Ruth Langsford’s close friends are expressing concern on social media about her “extreme” approach to losing weight: “If she keeps this up, the consequences could be severe…”

Ruth Langsford has candidly shared the emotional and physical toll her recent divorce from Eamonn Holmes has taken on her,

revealing that it has played a significant role in her noticeable weight loss. The television presenter, 64,

who announced her split from Eamonn, 65, last year after 14 years of marriage, admitted that the stress of the breakup has contributed to her slimmer figure.

Weight Loss and Life Changes

In a recent interview, Ruth opened up about her changing appearance and the factors that have influenced it.

She acknowledged that the emotional strain of her divorce has had an impact on her body, saying, “I have lost weight. Divorce obviously has something to do with it.”

However, she also attributed her weight loss to undergoing a hormone check and rebalancing process, which she believes has helped her overall well-being. She expressed hope that this shift might indicate she is nearing the end of menopause, a phase that brings about significant changes for many women.

Despite facing major life transitions, Ruth is embracing her new reality. She turns 65 in March and has chosen to focus on the positives, stating that she tries not to dwell too much on aging.

Dealing with Online Criticism

While many of Ruth’s fans have shown support during this difficult time, she has also faced cruel comments from online trolls. She recalled one particular remark that caught her off guard, revealing, “A man put on social media, ‘Ruth’s really looking her age these days.’ I had a little jolt and thought, ‘What, because I’ve got a few lines?’ I’m nearly 65. What am I supposed to look like?”

Despite being a well-known television personality accustomed to being in the public eye, Ruth admitted that such comments still affect her. She acknowledged that vanity plays a role in how she perceives herself, occasionally feeling self-conscious about certain photos. “Sometimes I’ll take a selfie, look at myself, and go, ‘That looks terrible. I’m not posting that.’”

Considering Cosmetic Enhancements

Ruth also reflected on the pressure to maintain a youthful appearance, especially as a woman in the entertainment industry. While she has not opted for cosmetic procedures, she admitted that she has considered it. “I’m not saying that I’ll never have a neck lift or a chin lift because, who knows? By the time I’m 68, I might not be able to stand it anymore.”

However, she shared that her upbringing has influenced her perspective on beauty and aging. Her mother and grandmother instilled in her the belief that vanity should not be a priority. She recalled, “If ever I said to my mum, ‘My knees are so chubby,’ she’d say, ‘You’re lucky to have knees.’”

While Ruth remains open to the idea of cosmetic treatments in the future, for now, she continues to embrace her natural beauty, despite the pressures she faces.

Navigating Life After Divorce

Since announcing their separation, Ruth and Eamonn have been navigating life apart. Reports suggest that Ruth is pushing for a quick divorce settlement, with claims that she is eager to keep their £3.5 million Surrey home as part of the proceedings.

Additionally, their beloved pet, Maggie, a 14-year-old Border Collie cross, has been at the center of a custody battle. It has been reported that Ruth will keep the dog, a decision that has been difficult for Eamonn, who has spoken openly about the comfort and unconditional love Maggie has brought him during tough times.

Eamonn, who shares a 22-year-old son, Jack, with Ruth, has since moved forward with his new relationship. He went public with dating counsellor Katie Alexander in May last year, and speculation has been growing that he is ready to take the next step in their relationship. Sources suggest that Eamonn is eager to get engaged, signaling a fresh start for the television host.

Looking Ahead

While Eamonn is moving forward in his personal life, Ruth remains focused on her own journey. She has acknowledged the pain that comes with the end of a long-term marriage but is determined to keep pushing forward. “A break-up of a relationship is hard enough for anybody to deal with. A divorce is very difficult and it’s very painful, but most people don’t have to do it in the public eye.”

Despite the challenges, Ruth is embracing her new reality and looking ahead to what the future holds. Whether it’s focusing on her career, personal growth, or simply enjoying life on her own terms, she is proving that strength and resilience can shine through even in the most difficult times.
