Will Burns, who just received the golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent, astonishes viewers by stating he WILL D*E if he heads home now.

ITV Britain’s Got Talent Star Says He Can ‘Die Happy’ After Golden Buzzer Moment

Aspiring comedian and Britain’s Got Talent superfan Will Burns has described his incredible Golden Buzzer moment as a dream come true,

saying that receiving recognition from his idol, Simon Cowell, has already made him feel like a winner.

The 25-year-old impressionist from Leeds left the judges and audience in stitches with his hilarious impersonations,

earning the very first Golden Buzzer of the 2025 season from presenters Ant and Dec. As the show returned on Saturday, February 22,

Will’s audition stood out, securing him a fast-track spot in the live semi-finals. Overwhelmed with emotion,

he admitted that seeing Simon Cowell laugh at his performance was the ultimate achievement.

“Simon laughing at me—I don’t think I could get any higher than that,” Will gushed. “It’s a pinch-me, die-happy moment. I mean, I’ve literally got his bobblehead on my desk!”

A Lifelong Dream Becomes Reality

Will’s passion for Britain’s Got Talent dates back to his childhood. Ever since the show first aired in 2007, he has been a devoted fan, even decorating his bedroom with a BGT theme. He fondly recalled receiving a hoodie for Christmas that read “William’s Got Talent,” further fueling his dream of one day stepping onto the BGT stage himself.

“Growing up, I was obsessed. I’ve always dreamed of being on the show,” he shared.

His audition was packed with spot-on impressions, including Britain’s Got Talent voiceover artist Peter Dickson, Gogglebox star Craig Cash, and the legendary Sir David Attenborough. His talent quickly won over the judges—Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli—all of whom gave him a standing ovation.

Will, who describes himself as “alternative and a little wacky,” was overwhelmed by the judges’ reactions. “I was gobsmacked,” he admitted. “I’m just so happy and delighted they liked it. I told Ant and Dec that they have changed my life.”

A Passion for Comedy from a Young Age

Will’s journey into comedy started early. From a young age, he participated in local theatre productions and pantomimes, developing a love for performing. He went on to study English and Creative Writing at university, but his real breakthrough came when he attended a comedy course run by The Prince’s Trust.

“By the end of that week, I realized how much I absolutely loved it,” he said. “I did my first stand-up gig in Manchester, and it just took off from there. I’ve never felt anything like that buzz on stage.”

Despite his love for comedy, his journey has not been without its struggles. Like many comedians, he has experienced both triumphant and challenging performances.

“I’ve had great gigs, but I’ve also had nights where it’s just fallen flat. I’ve performed to a packed house, and I’ve also performed to just four people after driving two hours to get there. That’s just part of being in comedy.”

Winning Over Audiences of All Ages

Will’s comedic talent has resonated across different audiences, even in unexpected settings. One of his most unusual gigs was a daytime show for new mothers and their babies.

“I had this big squeaky dummy that made a noise, and every time I told a joke, I squeezed it—and all the babies laughed! At least I got a good response from them!” he joked.

A Royal Variety Dream and Future Aspirations

Now that he has earned the Golden Buzzer, Will has his sights set on the BGT finals and the ultimate prize—performing at the Royal Variety Show.

“Since I was seven, my whole life has been building up to this,” he said. “I’ve always dreamed of being on that stage, and now I’ve done it. If I got to perform for the King, that would be a full-circle moment.”

As for the £250,000 prize money, should he win? Will joked that his first move would be finding his own place.

“I’d have to move out,” he laughed. “Maybe that’s why my mum and dad are so excited that I got the Golden Buzzer!”

With his natural talent, infectious energy, and deep passion for comedy, Will Burns is certainly a name to watch as Britain’s Got Talent continues. Whether he takes home the grand prize or not, his journey is already one of the most memorable of the season.
